Theatretech were appointed by ISKL as their theatre consultant to work with the concept architects HOK in London and local architects Veritas in Kuala Lumpur to develop plans for 4 performance spaces in a new campus for the School in Kuala Lumpur, designed to cater for a total of 2,500 pupils from Elementary through to High School.

There is a 650 seat professionally equipped High School theatre which is traditional proscenium- style theatre with a stalls and circle level, lighting bridges above the auditorium, and a wide stage with near full-height hoist flying. There is a separate 200 seat Recital Hall, which is geared primarily for small and medium scale music concerts, with some flexibility in the front three rows to expand and contract the stage area. A large rectangular space with a technical gallery all round and 360 plus spaces on a bench seating travelling retractable unit serves the Elementary School, and there is a ‘Black box’ Studio Theatre, with a technical gallery all round and a tension wire grid over the main body of the space, the seating being on a number of fully mobile retractable units.

The High School Theatre and the Elementary School Theatre were completed in time for the opening of the new School in 2019, but the Recital Hall and Studio Theatre have yet to be fitted out, and will be actioned when funds become available.
