Theatretech were asked to convert an existing rectangular School Hall by the College. Whilst the basic plan and location remained the same, the side walls were punched out to increase the usable width of the Hall, and a gallery at first floor introduced.

The overall height of the Hall could not be increased as it was subject to the retention of views from the town to the School chapel, which is a Grade 1 listed monument. However, a new roof was added with a modicum overall height increase, and a new two storey foyer block was added on the School side, and a dressing room block with a raised height Studio Theatre on the town side.

The external appearance need to blend in with the local largely stone and rendered language of its neighbours, though the foyer extension was fully glazed to take advantage of views across the playing fields to the distant Brecon Beacons.

The theatre is fully equipped, and provides a professional facility for outside users as well as the School.
